DFW Adoption is committed to providing support to adoptive families and their children whenever it’s needed.
We know that families can experience difficulties at all sorts of different times in their lives – and we want to make it easy for adopters to come back to us to seek advice and help if they ever need it.
As a team we provide informal ways for adopters to stay in touch with the organisation. Our workers write a twice yearly newsletter for families and other interested parties and family and social events are organised throughout the year.
Additionally the adoption team work closely with Durham County Council Adoption Service and other external organisations to provide workshops and ongoing training for adopters at every stage of the adoption process.
We also support an informal network of mutual support and link our adopters with each other.
We are also able to provide families with information about other social work and therapeutic services that may be available.
